Favorite Place To Visit Guide

Updated: Dec 9, 2023

I am a nurse, mom, wife and love to travel. I started this blog as a way for me to share with you my passion for things in life. Traveling is one of my main hobbies. I love exploring the world. I think it is the best education to experience how other regions in the world enjoy their life.

I have traveled many place on this earth. For my family and I it is a great experience to explore what this world has to offer. Some of my favorite places you may need a plane ride and others, if you are in the Pacific Northwest, can drive. Here are few of my favorite places I visited.

France

My husband I spent 10 days in France. We traveled from Paris to Lyon to Nice to Bordeaux and finally back to Paris. I have to say it is on my top 10 favorite places ever to visit. If you have never been I highly recommend going.

Where To Stay

In Paris we stayed at the Hotel Monte Cristo in vibrant Latin Quarter of Pairs. Inspired by the famous novel "The Count of Monte Cristo." I loved this hotel for its location, super walkable, and its amazing indoor pool. This hotel has the vibe of a collector who has traveled the world. So much to look at throughout the hotel. This hotel offers an unforgettable experience for travelers looking to explore the beauty and culture of Paris.

My favorite place we stayed was the stunning castle hotel Chateau de Bagnols. Located in the picturesque countryside of Lyon, France. Dating back to the 13th century, this historic castle has been meticulously restored to its former glory and offers a luxurious and unforgettable stay for guests. The castle has Michelin star restaurant sourcing local ingredients to offer the most exquisite works of food art. This would be a great place to get married! I dream about going back to this destination.

What To Do

France is full of so many beautiful things, places and people. I would say the highlight of our trip was seeing the Moulin Rouge a world-famous cabaret. It was established in 1889, it is known for its extravagent and vibrant shows. We got last minute tickets to the Moulin Rouge the night of off their website. It was so fun to watch the athleticism and creativity from the dancers while sipping Champagne. The dancers on roller skates was one of my favorites!

If you are in France you definitely need to hire a photographer to take pictures of you and whoever else you please. This was by far the best decision I made on the trip. It would have been impossible for us to get these amazing shots alone. We found our photographer on Airbnb experiences.

Nice, France has a little French and a little Italian flair. It used to be an Italian territory, but became French in 1860. It has probably the best food I have ever eaten. You defiantly need to stop in the Hotel Negresco a luxurious and historic hotel for a drink. You have to try the Negresco cocktail.

LEAVENWORTH

I love Leavenworth, Washington! It is a picturesque Bavarian-themed village nestled in the Cascade Mountains. It is a popular destination known for its year round Christmas decor, unique charm and stunning natural beauty. Whether you are a nature enthusiast, a food lover, or an adventure seeker, Leavenworth has something to offer for everyone.

Leavenworth is surrounded by the Cascade Mountains and the Wenatchee River. The area offers numerous hiking and biking trails, perfect for exploring the stunning alpine landscapes. In the winter months, Leavenworth becomes a winter wonderland, with opportunities for skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and ice climbing.

Leavenworth is also famous for its festivals and events. The town hosts various festivals throughout the year, celebrating everything from Oktoberfest to Christmas lighting ceremonies. These events showcase the vibrant culture and traditions of the Bavarian theme, with live music, traditional food, and entertainment.

Where To Stay

If my husband and I are going for a long weekend we stay at the all inclusive Post Hotel. It is a great place to relax and unwind with an all access spa. This an adult only hotel focused on health and tranquility. We you book a room here don't forget to book a massage or facial as well. This is hands down my favorite hotel!

If we go to Leavenworth with the family I would recommend staying at Hotel Pension Ana in the Chapel Room. This is a one of kind experience to stay inside a chapel. It even has a jacuzzi tub to relax in. The location is in the heart of Leavenworth.

What To Do

One of my favorite places start when I get to Leavenworth is at the edge of town at Silvara Cellars. It is a magical winery nestled in an apple orchard on the hill side with epic views of the valley. The wine is fantastic here! Stop here for a glass of wine and cheese plate.

Food enthusiasts will find a wide array of dining options in Leavenworth. From authentic German cuisine to local farm-to-table eateries, the village offers a diverse culinary scene. One of my favorite restaurants to go is Larch. It is seasonal Northwest pasta cuisine. The fresh pasta here hits the spot! It is located very close to the Post Hotel.
